DIT Students and UNDP Team Visit Ngozi Geothermal Project for Capacity Building

The Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology (DIT) main campus, through its Master of Engineering in Sustainable Energy Engineering Program, conducted a site visit to the Ngozi Geothermal Project as part of a capacity building initiative supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The visit brought together postgraduate students, UNDP staff, and academic members, offering them an opportunity to deepen their understanding of geothermal development and sustainable energy solutions.
Upon arrival, the delegation was warmly received by the Tanzania Geothermal Development Company (TGDC) team stationed at Ngozi. The students and staff gained first hand exposure to the progress being made at the project site and engaged in discussions on the role of geothermal energy in Tanzania’s renewable energy future.
The study visit forms part of ongoing efforts to bridge academic learning with practical field experience, while strengthening collaboration between higher learning institutions, development partners, and national energy agencies.
